Solar energy, renewable energy, the most promising?

Solar panels are increasingly appearing on the roofs of houses and not only on new buildings. It must be said that the sun is a renewable free and inexhaustible.

However, France is far behind compared to other countries where the sun is a common source of energy. It is the fourth largest in Europe behind Germany, Spain and Italy.

There are two kinds of solar systems: solar thermal and solar photovoltaic.

The solar heat can heat the water, through sensors, which passes through pipes under the panels and spreading in your balls and your hot water radiators. Aid, the form of regional grants and tax credits (45% of total cost), you are offered to help you install these panels still cost quite expensive at present. For solar thermal, it is around 5,000 euros in the south and 7,000 euros in the North. Ah yes, there is a considerable difference between these two regions of France. This is easily explained. As the sun is more active in the South, it takes less panels to heat water flowing through pipes. This is not just for the northerners, but it is purely mathematical!

The solar thermal panels can be installed on roofs but also by land. The key is that they are oriented at 45 degrees south, where the sun is strongest, for maximum efficiency.

More and more French install such panels. But beware, you go back in your bills in a few years only if you use fully heated water panels. The water not used is lost forever, you can not store it.

It's different for solar photovoltaics, which allows storage (with batteries) or resale (under certain conditions). The solar photovoltaic panels convert sunlight into electricity. These seem more profitable in the long term, hence the desire of the French Government to strengthen their development. Wish that is beginning to take shape this year. According to the Union of Renewable Energies (RES) and the French trade association of solar photovoltaic (SOLER), solar PV has experienced strong growth in France in 2008 (169.2 MW against 36 MW in 2007). Far behind the solar heat, it tends to gain ground even though most of these facilities are not connected to the electricity grid (- 25%), which prevents the use of electricity for the community .

However, this trend should be confirmed that in the future insofar as the Grenelle Environment requires to reach a fleet of 1 100 MW of solar PV in 2012, before reaching 5 400 MW in 2020.

Besides, November 17, 2008, the Minister of Ecology Jean-Louis Borloo, presented in Paris the Government's plan on renewable energy. It involves the construction of at least one photovoltaic central region by 2011. The Minister said "The big is the sun. In industrial terms, and the collapse of industrial costs, it is probably there that has the largest capacity. "The financial incentives are taken to invite the industry, supermarkets, farmers put photovoltaic panels on their roofs: their electricity will be sold 45 cents / kWh (Source: AFP).

Photovoltaic panels still cost money. The price of installation is around 15,000 euros. The price is high because of the batteries or batteries that you need to install to your store electricity. You benefit from regional aid and tax credits for installation (50% of total). Profitability is made in very long term, provided that you can sell to EDF your surplus electricity. This is also the biggest problem with solar panels: the connection to EDF induces significant and long approaches. However, according to Jean-Louis Borloo, steps should be simplified in the near future.

The solar system seems to be a promising future provided to reduce the cost. To do this, simply connect the system directly to the EDF network, process more economical than batteries. The price of photovoltaic panels is also decreasing steadily. They are now 3rd generation with cells printed on media.

PV also seems to democratize more. It is on the market quite small devices such as flares, signs, kiosks emergency on the highway, suitcases sun to recharge your mobile, your laptop, your gps, etc.., Using this method . There are even fishing boats powered by solar energy.

It seems oriented more toward the sun. This is an ultra positive and going in the direction of those who want to protect nature and the environment. Indeed, solar energy is clean, renewable and inexhaustible. What more?
